Youth Conference : “Intergenerational Church of Refuge”
The Department of Youth of the Adventist Church of Albania with the support of the Trans-European Division of the Seventh Day Adventist Church organized on April 12-14 a conference focusing on the Youth.
The theme of the conference was “Intergenerational Church of Refuge” (iCOR). The aim of this initiative was to promote a Value-Oriented Church, which would aim to create an environment where everyone is accepted, welcomed and valued, regardless of who they are, where they come from, or what they represent. .
This is becoming increasingly essential to the fact that according to statistics young people leaving the church account for the largest share of departures, and not for doctrinal reasons, but rather because of the lack of core values that make them welcome in the community of the Church.
The core values of iCOR, as presented by the keynote speakers of the conference are: 1. Relationships (connecting, caring and participating)
2. Spiritual Growth (Worship and Education) 3. Mission (Service and Reconciliation) 4. Empowerment (Mentoring, Training and Leadership). These values are the basis of a comprehensive discipleship, which is the core mission of every Adventist Church anywhere in the world.
During this 3-day conference participated about 40 young people, explorers and young people together with special guests from the Adriatic Union Pr Jovan Radovanov and from the Trans-European Division Pr. Zlatko Musija.
The young people engaged in various sports and socializing activities and revealed the main values that are very important to them for a church, so that it is truly a sheltering church of different generations oriented by the best values. biblical.
